How To Make Moving Properties Less Stressful

How To Make Moving Properties Less Stressful

Moving house almost always comes with a healthy dose of stress! There are lots of things to consider like how best to organise packing, which room you should start in, and how many boxes you’ll need. At Philip Ellis, we will be sharing some beneficial pointers to help guide you through this process.

Plan what you’re going to do each day

By setting yourself a to-do list or having a planner nearby, you can write down everything you needed to do which makes it easier to understand what has been done and what needs to be complete.

You can do this through a daily plan or a plan of each room, the possibilities are endless; it’s down to you how you’d like to complete your moving process.

Buy high-quality storage

The last thing anyone would want while carrying heavy boxes is for the material to break or fall through. Don’t buy cheap boxes and bags, invest in decent quality materials; this will save time and they can be reused in the future! Here are some boxes that are available to purchase in most stores:

Cardboard box: Label each box, this will make it so much easier if you can’t see what’s in each one.

Clear box: These are an ideal type of storage as you can easily organise each box without having to keep reopening them.

Focus on one room at a time

By focusing on one room at a time, you will stay organised throughout the removal process, and you’ll be able to easily unpack in each coded room.

Prioritise your essential tasks first

Completing the most important things first will create a much less stressful experience when moving homes. Some of the essential points that should be priority are:

Keep your important documents in a safe place at all times like your birth certificates, moving papers, driver’s license, passports, etc.

All of your important belongings should be put in an easy place to find and be packed last

Make sure you hire a reliable removal service

Anything that hasn’t been used in the last week could be packed first

Keep on track of the days you are moving, you have certain things happening, etc.

Be thorough with sorting through your things

Decluttering your home will make the whole process much simpler and gives you the perfect opportunity to get rid of unwanted or unnecessary things. This can also save you time packing and save money on storage.
